Is Liposuction a Safe Method of Treating Obesity?

With more than thirty percent of American adults suffering from the problem of obesity and liposuction becoming more and more popular every day, some obese patients wonder if finally they can bid goodbye to the fat that stands between them and their beauty, and stops them from enjoying many physical activities. Unfortunately, lipoplasty may not be the right solution for this problem.

In the late 1990s, a national news television showed surgeons from Virginia claiming they could treat obesity with liposuction. However, there are many much more experienced and reputed doctors who believe otherwise.

Trying to solve the problem of obesity by liposuction, known as megaliposuction or simply megasuction, is inappropriate not only because obese patients almost always regain the fat they lose through liposuction but also because they can develop some serious medical complications after the surgery. By removing more than about ten pounds of fat in a day, one might just be inviting other serious health problems.

In obese patients, much bigger cannula, a metal or plastic instrument that is inserted between skin and muscle to extract the fat, is used to compensate for the large amount of fat that is to be removed. After the fat is removed, there is also a high chance of ripples and rides mostly in upper and inner thigh areas being left behind. Megasuction also can result in constrictive bands and skin folds which for some patients as big of a problem as the fat they just got rid of. Surgical incision or excision of the bands is sure to leave the patients with scars.

Lipoplasty might be useful to those who are determined to start dieting and exercising after the surgery so that the fat never gets chance to get back on their body. Still the risks are too many and chances of success too slim to try to treat obese patients with liposuction. But for those over-weight people who want to get rid of fat from certain parts of their body like hip or thigh, this procedure might prove to be as effective as to anyone else.

It might be wise of the obese people to watch out the amount of calorie they intake and to look for their running shoes than to hope for liposuction to be able to solve their problem of obesity one day. Dieting and exercise are by far cheaper and better answers than this procedure to get rid of the unwanted fat.

Obesity – Drinking Neutral Water Will Cut Your Craving For Sugary Drinks and Food

People who crave sugar in their diet will undoubtedly be overweight. This is because the craving for sugar will not be satisfied with one portion and there will be a constant want for more. Since there is a vast selection of sweet foods and drinks available; people can happily feed and satisfy your addiction to sugar, even when they are not hungry.

Eating sweet foods is an addiction, which is usually started from childhood with sweetened drinks. It increases as you grow older to drinking tea and coffee with sugar, which leads on to a desire for more sugar in other things.

Refined white sugar is not good for your health, because it is acidic, rots your teeth and adds worthless calories to your body. Like any addiction, the best way to stop an addiction is to erase it, cold turkey from your diet. Then start eating natural sugar as glucose in fresh and dry fruits.

The toughest part is doing without sugar at the beginning! You may need support to do this, as you will probably hate the drink and think it totally vile to drink. But you MUST keep drinking it, because your taste buds will adjust to liking tea or coffee without sugar. Then you have won the battle!

The same applies to carbonated drinks and fruit juices. You have to learn to like drinking tap water with nothing added to it. Again this will be the hard part. Have you ever heard of visualization techniques? When you drink a glass of fresh clean water; I want you to think of a waterfall with fresh and healthy water. Now look at the glass and see how much better it seems, full of that fresh water from the waterfall.

Now imagine the water running through your system cleaning your organs and being lapped up by circulatory and lymphatic system. Think of it feeding your body and making it feel comfortable inside. You may want to drink another glass after going through that process! I drink my water out of a wine glass, because I like to enjoy the experience of feeding my body with water that it yearns for that keeps my body hydrated.

Now if someone offers you a coke, or lemonade. I want you to visualize acid like vinegar; that is not good for your body. Hopefully you will then want to decline the drink, because it is only provides wasted calories that your body does not want or need in your body.

Drinking neutral water will calm your cravings for sugar and you will become less interested in sugary drinks and foods. You must learn to LIKE drinking water or filtered water and really believe it is doing your body lots of good, because your body wants and needs plain simple water.

My advice for making water more palatable and better needed for your body:

1.Drink before you eat and not during or after a meal, until an hour or so later when your food has been digested. You can add a few sips during a meal if the food is too dry to digest.
2.Drink when you are thirsty, to replenish the fluids in your body; such as after exercise.
3.Keep a jug of water in the fridge, so you can always have a glass of refreshing chilled water
4.If you are sitting at a table, put the water in a wine glass and you will enjoy savoring the drink even more.

For your body to be healthy, you need to drink neutral water; because your body is 80% water. To overcome an addiction to sugary drinks and food; you need to start drinking neutral water as much as possible, so that your body starts to crave for water instead of sugary drinks. It will be a challenge at first, but once the habit has been knocked; you will reap the rewards by losing excess weight.
